PL2007 notes on program submittals.
October 8, 2006 (rev. Oct. 13)
Per the current rules a complete program description is required before a program is eligible for the Pricelessware List.
The first part of the program description should be posted in this thread:
PL PL2007 Program Descriptions:
To submit the brief program description you may do one of the following:
1. Post the program name
and the link to the brief description of a program that's on the ACF Program Index page:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_ProgramIndex.php
or the description link that's on the PL2006 index page:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2006/PL2006ProgramIndex.php
2. If you want to submit a program that is NOT on the list - as a minimum post this information (Category, Subcategory, Program, Company, Author, Ware description, URL). Thanks to Little Girl - here's an online form to help you do the ACF program information description:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/ftp/
Part1-PL07desc-ACFinfo.html
Programs will be placed on the Nominations List when that brief program description has been submitted. The remainder of the program description should be uploaded to this wiki.
Check the "desc" column on the ACF page to see if there's an existing program description. If there's an existing program description I'll create a wiki file for you which you can revise as needed. Thanks to Little Girl - here's an online form to help you do NEW descriptions:

Part2-PL07desc.html
Step by step (hoping I don't leave any out) - from the nominations page
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2007/2007PL-Nominations.php
go to the description for
AbiWord (for example) via its link:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2007/P_programs.php#0024-PW
When you get to the program description page (P_programs.php) you will see the link to its wiki file (notice that the links/files use the program's ID number (0024-PW)):
http://acfwiki.pbwiki.com/f/0024-PW.htm (The name of your wiki file MUST match the program's ID number.)
Now find the program you submitted. If you want to revise the file view it in your browser. When you've viewed and copied the source code of the file and pasted it into Notepad (or whatever) you can make any changes that are needed and save it - use the same name as the file you copied.
In order to upload the revised file you must login to the wiki. When you're logged in you'll see a "files" option - click on that link - you'll be able to navigate to the file on your computer and upload it.
If you have any questions post them in the newsgroup.

Don't know what to do with this upload/wiki thingie either :-)
It's EASY. You don't need to know anything about HTML coding! Instructions below. . .
Go to the program description:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2007/PL2007GRAPHICS.php#0564-PW
From there go to the "desc. link":
http://acfwiki.pbwiki.com/f/0564-PW.htm
Save the page to your computer - open it and make whatever revisions are needed.
Be sure to sign and date your handiwork. . .
(desc. rev.: 2006-10-23 by Vegard Krog Petersen)
Go to the wiki:
login - then go to the "files" page
Upload the revised file (you will be told a file slready exists - select "replace").
Go back to the PL page and reload it to view the changes you just made.
Note: These are NOT complete HTML files - they are simply paragraphs in another web page. Please do NOT add header information.
There is a sample file named 0000-TEST.htm in the files directory. Take a look at that - try saving it if you aren't sure you have the upload options figured out correctly.
